Horse riding

The riding culture is part of the Magyar (Hungarian) history they are born horseman.

Riding is increasingly popular. The rides are well organised for visitors to enjoy through the beautiful countryside.

Fishing

Fish soup (Halaszle) this soup goes back to the 1800s, when it was first mentioned around Lake Balaton. Fish soup requires a variety of different fish. Carp and Catfish, these two add the finishing touch to the flavour.

Pike and Perch can weigh up to 9-10 kilo’s, and measure up to 120 cm in length, they are usually boneless. The traditional way to cook this fish is whole and pan fried.

Kis Balaton.

Some of the best lake fishing in Europe! You do need a permit, this is easily arranged.

Catfish, pike, perch, carp, eel, etc.

Kis Balaton ( Little Balaton) is reserved for fishing and wildlife lovers only. No swimming or boats of any description allowed on the Lake to preserve its peace and tranquility for both visitor and wildlife.

Hunting

The huge forests here are a hunter's paradise. They are endless, the Bakony foothills, Keszthely hills, and Somogy hills. Stags, with beautiful, golden antlers, roe deer, moufflon and fallow deer, wild boar. Hare, pheasants, and Partidge plus much more.

We can arrange stalking for you as we have our own private, by appointment, English, stalker who has over twenty years experience . Excellent accommodation is available, with home cooked meals. Only small hunts are organised, enjoy a thermal spa and massage on the days you are not hunting. You will think you are in Heaven because God was very generous when he created this part of the world.

Cycling

You can completely cycle around the lake on a bicycle, with safety. It’s a long way but fun.

Play Tennis and other racket games.

Sailing

European Sailors have known about Lake Balaton for over a hundred years. It now has a beautiful new mariner with a great social life. Ports (births) are available for hire.

Lake Balaton does not allow motor boats, so for skiing enthusiasts you can try the water ski track with six machines.

Snow skiing

The Slovenian ski slopes are close to, Lake Balaton. Austria is near by. Transport can be arranged.

Golf

I told you the Balaton has everything one could wish for.

Hungarian golf courses offer the same high quality of services as Western European ones do.
